Reclaim Your Sense of Safety

AFTER FAMILY TRAUMA & INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE

Do you struggle with trusting others? Perhaps your biggest struggle is trusting yourself. Relational trauma has a way of eroding our self-esteem and keeping us stuck in recurring patterns of toxicity with family, friends, intimate partners, and even work colleagues.

Only by becoming aware of the ways trauma impacts our lives can we start to shift these patterns and heal. We are not responsible for our trauma, but we must take responsibility for our healing journey in order to break the cycle.

AS A SURVIVOR OF TRAUMA, YOU MAY BE STRUGGLING WITH….

Boundary Setting

Survivors often struggle to say “no” and assert their needs, falling into people-pleasing patterns that leave them feeling depleted and resentful.

Emotional Regulation

Coping with rejection, disappointment, and feeling our own feelings–even the positive ones!—can be challenging when we lack a felt sense of safety in our minds and bodies.

Avoidant Behaviors

Unhealed trauma can trap us in persistent flight and freeze responses, leading to escalating tensions that eventually reach a breaking point.

As a trauma therapist, what I know for sure is that healing gets a lot easier

Welcome

RELATIONAL TRAUMA THERAPIST

As a long-time licensed clinical psychologist working with veterans in VA hospitals, as well as civilians in my private practice, I have witnessed firsthand how trauma and PTSD can take over your life.

My passion for trauma recovery first began in Puerto Rico, where I was born and raised. Growing up on a small island, I encountered many people struggling with trauma from exposure to hurricanes, accidents, and military combat.

This motivated me to become a therapist specializing in treating trauma & PTSD, as well as co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, and depression.

This work is near and dear to my heart, and my hope is that the support offered here will make trauma recovery more accessible to survivors everywhere.
